Will you tell me what to do?Nope. That’s not how this works. If advice alone worked, Google would’ve solved it already. You probably already know what you “should” do. But knowing and feeling ready are two very different things. My job isn’t to give you answers, it’s to help you hear your own.
-
Why can’t I just change?Because change isn’t about willpower, it’s about safety. We repeat patterns because they once protected us. Therapy helps you understand what those patterns were for… and gently build new ones that serve who you are now.
-
How much do you charge? You’ll find my full fee breakdown on the [Services Page] but in short: • Sessions start at £65 • Initial assessments are £85 • Short check-ins and top-up sessions are available Therapy isn’t a small investment, but it’s a meaningful one, not in me, in you. If affordability is a worry, we can talk about options. Sometimes adjusting session frequency or structure can help make things more manageable.
-
What should I expect from my first session? No clipboards. No tests. No awkward silences. Just a real conversation. We’ll talk about: ✔ What’s bringing you to therapy ✔ What you’re hoping to change ✔ What’s been hard, and what’s felt impossible There’s no pressure to have the right words. You bring your truth, I’ll meet you there.
-
Why does talking about myself help?Because bottling things up doesn’t make them go away, it just buries them deeper. In therapy, we don’t just “talk.” We connect the dots. Understand what’s underneath. And help your brain rewire the stories it’s been stuck in. You don’t have to explain everything perfectly. You just have to start.
-
Why do I keep doing things I know hurt me?Because your brain craves familiarity more than it craves happiness. We go back to the pain we know because it once felt like love, safety, or belonging. Therapy helps you understand those loops, and gently unlearn them.
-
How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?Great question. Honestly? You won’t know for sure until we talk. But here’s what I can tell you: ✔ I’m accredited, highly trained, and deeply human. ✔ I bring 25+ years of life and professional experience. ✔ I’ve sat on the other side of the room, too. I get it. If you feel like I “get you,” if my words land, if something in you softens when we speak, that matters more than credentials. If not? No hard feelings. Let’s find someone who does fit.
-
What if therapy doesn’t work for me?It might not… right away. It’s not magic. It’s a process. Some weeks feel electric. Others feel like nothing’s shifting. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. If you keep showing up? That’s progress. And yes, that counts.
-
What if I say the wrong thing? Or cry? Or freeze up?Then you’re doing it right. Therapy isn’t about being polished. It’s about being real. You can cry, swear, go silent, laugh at inappropriate times, whatever shows up, it’s welcome here.
-
Is it weird if I challenge you in a session? Not at all. That’s where the good stuff happens. This is a relationship, not a performance. If something doesn’t sit right, say so. I won’t take it personally. In fact, it might be exactly what we need to unpack.
-
How long will I need therapy for?Short answer: It depends. Longer answer: You set the pace. Some people come for a few months, some stay longer. There’s no “right” timeframe, just what feels right for where you’re at. We’ll review together as we go, no pressure, no rules.
